How to Skip Video Verification (New Google Business Profile)
Here's how to avoid the dreaded video verification when creating a new Google Business Profile.
The 9-Step Checklist
1Make a website for your business
Or add a new location page to an existing site. Just make sure it clearly lists your NAP (name, address, phone) info.
2Connect the website to GA4 and Search Console
Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Search Console (GSC) both give Google independent signals that your business and website are real and active.
3Build citations on industry-specific sites
List your business on directories relevant to your industry, using the exact same name, address, and phone number as your website.
4Create social profiles for the business
Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, whatever’s relevant. Keep the name, address, and phone consistent everywhere.
5List your business on data aggregators
Sources like DataAxle feed business info to many of the other directories and services Google references.
6Wait a few weeks for Google to find and index those citations
This is the step people skip. Give Google time to actually discover the citations before moving on.
7Add the business to Google Maps as a regular user
Using a Google account that will NOT be a manager of the Business Profile, go to Google Maps and add the business the normal way, not through the Business Profile interface. You can also ask a friend to do this for you.
8Get a few reviews on the newly created profile
Spread them out over a couple of weeks rather than all at once.
9Claim the Google Business Profile
Use the same email address you used to connect GA4 and Search Console.
GA4 = Google Analytics 4 · SC = Google Search Console
